The gîte, comprising Hameau Carbonnelle's entire west wing, is a self-contained three-story apartment with private access.
On the ground floor there is a secluded terrace outside and, inside, a fully equipped kitchen (microwave, gas cooker/oven, fridge, dishwasher/dryer) plus dining room with a seating area and sofa-bed (an additional guest can of course sleep on the sofa-bed).
On the first floor, a bright, spacious living room.
On the top floor, a bedroom with king size bed, a seating area and an open plan en-suite bathroom.
As an option, we serve home-cooked meals featuring locally sourced produce such as lamb from the salt marshes, torteaux or araignée crabs, lobsters, oysters, bulôts (sea snails), leeks and carrots from Creances. You can either dine by our 17th century fireplace or in your own dining room.
We can also deliver bread and croissants every morning to your doorstep, should you wish us to.
To book, simply phone or e-mail. We look forward to hearing from you!
If you want to get away from it all, Hameau Carbonnelle really is the place to do it. You may hear owls hunting at night as we have one or two that have taken up residence in the east wing. Or you may encounter an occasional tractor rumbling up the path. But otherwise, silence. And just a 10-minute drive away you'll find the most glorious beaches.
The Côte des Havres is known for its estuaries unique to this area of France which offer protected dunes and immense sandy beaches, as well as delicious oysters and other fruits de mer.
Our local village, La Haye du Puits, is a five-minute drive and there you'll find shops, supermarkets, banks, bakeries and a farmers market every Wednesday.
